Bobby Alger

Pastor Bobby was raised on a farm in central Shenandoah Valley. After graduating from VA TECH he spent several years in sales. He met Wanda at a local church and they married in 1988. During that first year of marriage, God called Bobby to prepare for ministry which took them to Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK where he completed a Master of Divinity.

As the Lead Elder of Crossroads, Pastor Bobby serves as the primary vision carrier through teaching, equipping, and mentoring other leaders.

Billy Vanscoy

Pastor Billy was born in Winchester, lived in PA and VA Beach, and returned here during his adolescence years. A graduate of both ODU (BSME) and WVU (MSME), he spent 25 years working in manufacturing in various management roles. He and Paula married in 1990 before both going to ODU. They have been involved with Crossroads for over 27 years.

As Executive Pastor, he focuses on the ministry, prayer, and other pastoral care tasks by engaging and assisting the Senior Pastor in church oversight.

Nick, a native of Southern Maryland, graduated from Baltimore International College with a degree in Culinary Arts. He and his wife, Emily, have been married for over 20 years. Nick oversees the youth and young adult ministries, provides primary oversight for Pathway to Legacy, and acts as our liaison with Beacon Hill Counseling. Additionally, Nick serves as the DOVE USA Youth Director, supporting our network of churches.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in administration, customer service, and small business ownership, she brings strategic clarity, operational excellence, and a heart for people to everything she leads.

For over 15 years, Emily has invested deeply in local church youth ministry and has served as a member of the Crossroads elder team for almost a decade. She also serves on the DOVE USA Youth Team nationally and co-authored The Secret of Devotion with her husband, Nick. Raised in nearby Berryville, Emily carries a deep love for the Winchester community and a passion to see the local church flourish.

Emily Payne

Dani, a Berryville native, holds a degree in Psychology from Liberty University. She and her husband, Peter, lived in Northern Ireland and now reside locally with their son, Finlay. Dani oversees media and production at Crossroads, serves with youth and young adults, and helps lead church improvement projects. She is passionate about the spiritual and mental health of the church and seeing people grow in emotional and spiritual wholeness.

Stephanie and her husband, Shaun, have two sons, Judah and Ezra. She holds a degree in Elementary Education from Shepherd University and has taught in West Virginia and Virginia. With years of experience in children’s ministry and church leadership, Stephanie serves as Crossroads’ Director of Children’s Ministry, leading CrossKids Nursery, Pre-K, and Elementary. She is passionate about helping the next generation grow in their own relationship with Jesus.

Stephanie Wilson

Joshua graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Information Technology and works as a Marketing Director in the e-commerce industry. He has been involved in music for much of his life, participating in school band for seven years, choir for four years, and serving on the worship team since age 13, where he began as a drummer.

Joshua now leads the worship team with a heart to create space for the Holy Spirit to move and to help the congregation encounter God’s presence through unified, Christ-centered worship. He and his wife, Bethany, have two sons.

Peter, originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and French. He’s been married to Dani since 2019 and recently became a father to Finn. At Crossroads, he serves as the Pulse Youth Leader and has been involved in Worship, Young Adults and SOME ministries. He enjoys football, hunting and frequent trips to Chik-fil-A. Peter is passionate about discipleship, and strengthening church governance/ accountability empowering the next generation to grow in character and conviction.
